What is Teen Timba
I chose this title as it reflects the age we live in. Everything is accessed via an app, a smart device, and often those 3 dots are the keys to open the next door.
“Teen Timba” is the Marathi translation of those 3 dots that pepper our lives. At times, a vertical menu of options. New avenues, alternatives routes, hidden choices. Too often as I provide tech support to my mom over the phone, I ask her to look for the 3 dots, or as we say in Marathi, “Teen Timba”. It is now the recognizable symbol of forward progress when nothing else makes sense.
At times those three dots suffice as a suffix. Teen Timba, the Marathi alternative to “dot, dot, dot” becomes an efficient end to a txt message, while still implying there something left to be said. Perhaps a delicate bit of innuendo at the end of a whatsapp message. Something pending, a comment left dangling open for interpretation… or to be continued.
I hope this blog will be a collective “Teen Timba”. Not sure what will come next, but hopefully worth exploring.
